Generator Location

  • Generators produce poisonous gases therefore they should be installed outdoors, under a roof, or in a room with good ventilation.
  • Generators need good airflow to ensure they do not over heat, if under roof or in a room make sure the roof is not too low and the area should be well ventilated.
  • Allow at least 1 meter on each side for access to the generator for servicing.
Position the generator as close to the distribution board as possible, this will cut installation and cable costs.
  • If you are considering a generator for home you might consider a silent generator. This will limit noise to your neighbours and occupants of the house. We consider a silent generator essential for home use.
